A woman has been bitten by a snake found in a children's toy box at a Gold Coast home.
The Department of Community Safety says the 31-year-old was taken to hospital in a stable condition after a snake bit her at a Mermaid Waters home on the Gold Coast Highway around 1.20pm (AEST) on Monday.
The snake, which has not been identified, was believed to be inside a toy box.
